Hello World

So it's been a while since I've posted on here, sadly. I've enjoyed the break, not gonna lie. Actually, I got on here and realized I didn't know how to make a post with this new crazy format they've got going on. It's nice to sign in and read up on everyone, but posting was tough to find. NOTE TO XANGA: Make it easier. Don't become MySpace.

Anyway, typical post - but life is good. Really good. I'm a little overwhelmed with school right now, but that's about it. Gotta play a little catch-up in some classes and get re-organized. I feel like I didn't get organized with things at the beginning of the semester so I'm paying for it now. Luckily, teachers are patient. It's all good.

Turns out I'm not going to be able to graduate until next May now instead of December. Had to drop a class from this semester (no time I guess) and when I was reviewing when I would be able to take it again I noticed that I still have 8 classes to take for my major - 2 that I didn't even know I had to take and 1 I just forgot about. You'd think my advisor would have said something? Nope.

So what does this mean? Well, probably no Navy for me. They wont extend my "ship date" out that far I don't think. This is based on the fact that they didn't like the idea of extending it to where it is right now - so push it back another several months and they're not having it. Meh. I'm not 100% committed right now anyway.

This leaves me back where I was a few months ago with finding a job - no where with no idea. I'm starting to narrow it out by figuring out what I DON'T want in a job, which just means I don't want a desk job in "Corporate America" just yet. However, I want something solid so I'm not living paycheck to paycheck. I thought about a Firefighter. That'd be cool. Then on the off days I could take up a hobby - making furniture or remodeling houses. Who knows. I just like being in an active work environment (like UPS haha).

Socially, life is peachy. Probably staying up too late every night, but you'll have that. I love the night - and hate the mornings - not a good combination. I'll just say that it's nice to be in a relationship where I feel like the other person actually wants to spend time with me, instead of feeling squeezed in all the time. Not knocking on anything I've had in the past, because I had good times. But it's good. Exciting.

That's all for now. I'm off to the mall (that homework's getting done as you can see, I know...) with the geef. Love to hear from you guys. Let me know what's going on.

Out.

Good Day

Hey everyone. Figured I'd write to update here in between classes. Life is whizzing by me incredibly fast these days. I am having a hard time finding my footing this semester academically. I fell a little behind in a couple classes already, due to not purchasing books and my new computer going on the fritz. Sad day there. Oh well, Apple takes pretty good care of their customers - I took it in and they gave me a new one. Sweet. Lost a few documents, but no skin off my back really because it was so new.

The biggest news of the past few weeks - I joined the Navy. Don't leave for a year though, have to graduate first. I'll go in as a Seaman (yeah yeah, laugh it up haha), and head to Officer Candidate School after getting my feet wet a bit. I passed all the necessary tests to qualify for the Cryptology field, which is just code breaking. I'll go to boot camp, then Monterrey, California for a year or so, then Texas for a few months, then who knows where. Probably stationed in San Diego, which is plush. I also have an opportunity to try for Special Warfare (aka, SEALs). If I do that, I'll go to boot camp then straight to San Diego for that training, which is notoriously intense. Pays well though. Anyway, more on that later.

Overall, life's good. No complaints really. Some speed bumps here and there, but that's just how it goes. I've been reading Xanga religiously still, although I don't write often, and I'm glad to see that most everyone is doing well right now. Count your blessings and think on them. Anyway, off to class.

Frick.

Life is swell, but I just BLEW through an entire paycheck - my first paycheck since the summer. It was only $190, from one week of work, but still... First thing out of it was $75 to T-Mobile. Then some gas. Then a couple CDs and a magazine. Then this, then that. Food here, food there. Some groceries. All that is left: $15. Suck. Suck, suck, suck. I have to live on $15 for 4 more days until my next paycheck. Oh well.

That's all this post was about. How terrible I am at managing my money...

On a brighter note www.myspace.com/aaronhsmith - some holiday tunes by yours truly. Nothing fancy.

Apparently MORE LATER meant like a week and a half later...

Anyway, I'm officially 22 now, and I feel like an adult finally. Graduating soon, starting real jobs, having to be responsible - it sucks. I started a job at UPS this week. Worked Monday through Saturday, made some good cash. I'm just a loader right now, everyone starts out at the bottom there, but my supervisors are saying I have the potential to make supervisor after "peak season" is over after Christmas. That's a stinkin' short amount of time. They normally start the newbies off in a slow trailer so they can get acquainted and gain some experience scanning boxes and stacking them, but I jumped right up to the second busiest trailer from the start. I'm not bragging, because it's just loading boxes - nothing glamorous - but its still sweet. Hard work though.

I'm sitting in my room now just procrastinating on my 18-page paper that I need to finish for Tuesday. Actually, I'm not really procrastinating, I'm just having a hard time working on it. I already have about 13 pages done already, so I just have to plow through and complete the rest. I'll probably pull a couple all-nighters so I can finish it and some other things that are due.

Gotta jet for now, have a splendid week!

This is weird, but it's hilarious. Stick through it...

Hey yo,

Two posts within one week is pretty good, eh? Anyway, its the day after Thanksgiving obviously, and I'm pooped. I stayed up to go shopping at midnight at a mall that was open here - because I figured I'd beat the nasty rush and get some sweet deals. You know, just enjoy the evening. My sister was supposed to come with, but ended up going to bed and just waiting until today to shop. Well, I was rudely awakened when I got a few miles away from the mall... a HUGE line of cars just waiting to pull into the parking lot. It was madness! So I finally parked, at about 12:30 - I was supposed to get there early - and walked about a half mile to the mall. When I got inside... couldn't move at all. The news stations that were there covering the "event" estimated that almost 40,000 people were there. It was ridiculous! I stayed and fought through anyway and bought a few pairs of jeans. I also got to see SEVERAL people from high school, about 15 to give you a ballpark. So it was good.

MORE LATER...
